WHAT WE BELIEVE
Jesus Mandate is committed to preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God as revealed in the Scripture. The Bible shall therefore be the basis of our internal operations and ministerial activities. Given the specialized nature of our calling, our emphasis shall be on the major doctrines of the Bible on which, historically, there has been general agreement among all true Christians. We therefore allow for freedom of conviction on other doctrinal matters among our team members and in the discharge of our ministerial mandate, provided that such interpretation is based upon the Bible alone, and that no such interpretation shall become an issue which hinders the ministry to which God has called us. Theologically, our article of faith shall fall into four categories as follows:
- GOD’S REVELATION PACKAGE FOR MAN
- The Bible consisting of 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God. It is originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
- There is ONE GOD, eternally existent in three Persons: ‘God The Father’, ‘God The Son’ and ‘God The Holy Spirit’ (Matthew 3:16,17; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
- In the Deity of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right Hand of the Father, His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25)
- Total depravity, sinfulness and guilt of all men and the need for repentance through faith in the atoning blood of Christ (Psalm 51:5; Acts 2:38; 3:19)
- GOD’S REDEMPTIVE PLAN FOR MAN
- Restitution (Genesis 20:1-8,14-18; Acts 23:1-5; 24:16)
- Justification by faith (Micah 7:19)
- Water baptism (Matthew 28:19)
- The Lord’s supper (Matthew 26:29); and
- Entire sanctification (John 17:15-17; I Thessalonians 4:3,7, 8), which is an instantaneous and definite act of God’s grace, subsequent to salvation, by which the believer’s heart is purified and made holy. The Christian should grow and mature in the experience subsequently.
- GOD’S REPLENISHING PLAN FOR MAN
- The Baptism in The Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it, with the evidence of “speaking in tongues”.
- The redemptive work of Christ on THE CROSS provides healing for the body in response to believing prayer (Isaiah 53:4, 5; Matthew 8:16, 17; I Peter 2:24)
- Marriage is one man, one woman till death parts them (Genesis 2:24; Malachi 2:14, 15; Ephesians 5:31-33).
- GOD’S RESTORATIVE END-TIME (ESCHATOLOGY) PROGRAMME FOR MAN
- In the BLESSED HOPE – the rapture of the Church at the first phase of Christ’s second coming (John 14:1-3; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
- In the Resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation (Daniel 12:2; John 5:28, 29).
- Great tribulation after the rapture (Matthew 24:21, 22,29; Revelation 9:16), the second phase of Christ’s Second Coming (Zechariah 14:3,4; Matthew 25:31-46; 26:64), Christ’s Millennial Reign for a thousand year on earth with ten thousands of His saints (Zechariah 14:9-20; Revelation 20:2, 3), Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15), Heaven (Revelation 21:1-7; 22:1-5), Hell the final abode of the unrepentant (Psalm 9:17; Revelation 14:10,11; 20:10,12,15)
