OVERCOMING SECRET SINFUL HABITS (Part 4)
Charles Spurgeon used this parable to illustrate the bondage of sin. He said, “There was once a tyrant who summoned one of his subjects into his presence and ordered him to make a chain. The poor blacksmith—that was his occupation—had to go to work and forge the chain. When it was done, he brought it into the presence of the tyrant and was ordered to take it away and make it twice the length. He brought it again to the tyrant, and again he was ordered to double it. He came back when he had obeyed the order, and the tyrant looked at it then commanded the servants to bind the man hand and foot with the chain he had made and cast him into prison.”
My friend that is what the devil does with men. He makes them forge their own chain, and then binds them hand and foot with it and casts them into outer darkness. The more you continue in that secret sinful habit the more you continue to forge your own chain. And at the end that is what the Devil will use to bind you hand and foot and cast you into outer darkness in the lake of fire. Those things are the real enemies of your soul and the focus
of this last edition of this series is to assure you that God can give you permanent victory over them.
Luke 1:74-75
74That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
I need to let you know that you can live a life of victory over those secret sinful habits every day of your life. God has promised a permanent deliverance so that you can live in holiness and righteousness 24/7. All you need to do is to accept Christ genuinely, develop hatred for those sinful habits (Part 2) and lay hold on God’s provisions for your deliverance (Part 3) “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36.
