CHANGE IS POSSIBLE
Randy was unsure about his choice of clothes for church so he sought some counsel from his wife. He asked, “Do you think I should change?” She took advantage of the opportunity and replied, “It depends – are you talking about changing your shirt or making a wholesale change as a human being?”
I remember reading through one of the books of John C. Maxwell Be all that you can be and I got captivated by a statement in the last chapter of the book where Frederic Flach in his book Choices, wrote “Most people can look back over the years and identify a time and place at which their lives changed significantly. Whether by accident or design, these are the moments when, because of a readiness within us, we are forced to seriously reappraise ourselves and the conditions under which we live to make certain choices that will affect the rest of our lives.” Then Maxwell added “We are never too old for that to happen”
If your life has been heading in a direction that leads to nowhere what you need is a change. It is not enough to exist, living a life that
counts is worth striving for. In case you have lived up till now without personal mission statement (PMS) that focuses on what you want to be and do, it is not too late to make a change. A PMS is your plan for success. It reaffirms who you are, puts your goals in focus. Your personal mission statement makes you the leader of your own life. You create your own destiny and secure the future you envision. If you must live a meaningful life but this dimension is missing in your life you need to make a drastic change. It may be that you have been caught up in a habit that may destroy your destiny, now you need a change.
You may not see the need for a change until you seriously appraise yourself and be ready to make choices that will affect the rest of your life. It does not matter how hard the change may seems, or how far you have gone that you think your own situation cannot change, say like Job “…all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come” Job 14:14. Change is possible in every areas of your life if you are desperate about it.
