THE PRICE OF PROMISCUITY

“Promiscuity is one example of a class of high-risk behaviors involving sexual addictions. It is comparable to, and may coincide with behaviors such as heavy drinking, gambling, and other thrill-seeking behaviors. Echoes from both human and divine tones spell doom for promiscuous behavior in no small way.

In a study conducted which employed data on young women from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health to explore the relationship between number of sex partners and educational attainment, ordinary least squares and instrumental variables estimates suggest that number of sex partners is negatively related to educational attainment, a result that is consistent with the argument that romantic involvements are time consuming and can impose substantial emotional costs on adolescents and young adults.

The estimated relationship between number of sex partners and educational attainment is robust to controlling for teen fertility and age

at first intercourse, and persists when age at first intercourse is treated as an endogenous variable. The study concluded that reducing the number of sex partners during adolescence and young adulthood may yield important educational benefits.

Also, God’s verdict upon the promiscuous is ‘dead while alive.’ But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.” I Timothy 5:6. Whatever the gender, anyone who delights in promiscuity in the name of seeking pleasure is a walking corpse. Aside the high risk of life-threatening health issues waiting to happen and the decreased longevity in age as a result of promiscuous life, there will be a time for everyone to give account of the time spent on earth.

Before you continue in your promiscuity, pause and count the cost! Can you live the rest of your life to regret in hell because of the pleasure of sin? Can you forfeit your hope of living eternally with God because of the glitter of sin that is just for a moment? Count the cost and repent before it is too late.
