THE MARRIAGE BED

A third-grade teacher asked her students to draw a picture of what they wanted to be when they grew up. The pictures came in, and there were pictures of nurses, of astronauts, of firemen etc. But one little girl handed in a blank piece of paper. The teacher said, “Don’t you know what you want to be?” And the little girl said, “Sure I know. I want to be married. But I don’t know how to draw it!”

Well that little girl is not the only one that doesn’t know what being married is supposed to look like. But God knows what a marriage is supposed to look like. In fact, He’s the one that came up with the original design. And He has shown us through various passages in His Word what He wants marriage to look like. Top on that list is the sanctity of the marriage relation. “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.” Hebrews 13:5. NKJV.

Many marriages are under perpetual curse from God because of flagrant disobedience to this express command to keep the

marriage union in a state of honor and a highly calculated design by God for the good of mankind. So, sexual relations are honorable only between a husband and a wife. Anything outside that is a dishonor to the marriage institution, whether as intending or married couples. That is why all licentiousness of life, and all violations of the marriage covenant before or after the marriage vow, attract severe punishment from God.

My friend, if you engage in premarital sex just because you want to keep that guy or you want to prove a point to that lady, you are under severe judgment of God except you repent. Traditions or customs may permit premarital sex where conception is a prerequisite for marriage, but it is forbidden by God. Also, God’s judgment does not exempt married couples who defile the marriage bed. He is a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation, and He knows when and how He will execute His judgment. You must repent before it is will be too late.
